Companion Program Coordinator, Osten-Victor Living with Advanced Illness Centre

1.0 FTE, Permanent

The Osten-Victor Living with Advanced Illness Centre is seeking a coordinator to support participants and volunteers, including participant onboarding, home and community visits, and matching participants with companion volunteers. The role also supports program development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building positive relationships with clients, and volunteers. The Companion Program Coordinator also needs to be a self-starter that is professional and organized.

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, nursing, counselling, or another related field.

Minimum of 2 years of palliative care experience preferred.

Valid driver’s license with own transportation required.

The Children’s Grief Centre is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team and facilitate meaningful, inclusive, and enjoyable experiences for children, youth, and families impacted by grief and loss.

The ideal candidate has an understanding of grief and loss, has a person-centred approach, and brings creativity to developing activities for families and teens. The Community Engagment Coordinator also has experience and passion for mentorship and volunteer training.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, child and youth care or related field required.

Counsellor, Children’s Grief Centre

Option of 0.6 or 1.0 FTE

The Children’s Grief Centre is expanding our team! We are seeking experienced and skilled counsellors to join our clinical team to provide short and long-term grief and trauma-focused counselling to children, teens, and their families who are grieving a sudden or expected death.

The counsellor should have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development in conceptualisation and practice and a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical counselling experience.

Child & Family Counsellor, Osten-Victor Living with Advanced Illness Centre

Permanent Position, 0.6 FTE

Are you passionate about client and family-centered care? Are you an experienced counsellor guided by compassion and flexible to meet the needs of your clients in various locations?

The counsellor provides psychosocial grief counselling support utilizing a strong skillset of therapeutic modalities to support children, teens, young adults, and families faced with an advanced illness, through to end-of-life and death.

Minimum of 2 years counselling experience working with children, teens, and families. Preferably with grief and loss experience.

Hospice Calgary, through its Children’s Grief Centre, offers a high quality, well-established, and supportive practicum program for students in their last year of a post graduate counselling degree.
