Director, Living with Advanced Illness Centre

Permanent, 0.8 FTE with benefits

Are you passionate about community-based mental health care? Are you an experienced clinician interested in providing supervision, training, assessment, intervention, and support?

The director has knowledge to access, implement, and evaluate a wide range of clinical care interventions to ensure the delivery of safe, ethical, and quality care. They are keen on building trusting, respectful, and collaborative relationships inside and outside of the organization.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a health care setting in a clinical or management capacity is required.

Counsellor, Children’s Grief Centre

Permanent, 1.0 FTE with benefits

Are you passionate about client and family-centered care? Are you interested in providing short and long-term grief and trauma-focused counselling to children, teens and their families who are grieving a sudden or expected death?

The counsellor assesses clients to identify goals and required interventions, knowing that each person has different needs and requires a different approach. They are willing to be flexible to meet the needs of their clients, including meeting with them at the location that makes the most sense for them, whether that’s at the Children’s Grief Centre, home, or school.

Minimum of 3 years counselling experience with children, teens, and families.

Practicums

Hospice Calgary, through its Children’s Grief Centre, offers a high quality, well-established, and supportive practicum program for students in their last year of a post graduate counselling degree.

Counselling Practicum for Masters Students

The next opportunity to join our practicum program will be for the 2025-2026 academic year. We will post information on when and how to apply in the first months of 2025.
