Helping children and families to face grief.

Through the Children's Grief Centre, families with children aged 19 and under are supported as they adjust to the changes when someone close to them has died. Using individual, family counselling and group support, we work with children, teens, and their families to help them gain the tools they need to face grief.

The Children’s Grief Centre offers professional, specialized services for grieving children in Southern Alberta. Our counsellors help families with children and teens adjust to the changes in their lives. Our counsellors are recognized experts in end-of-life, grief and trauma counselling for those aged 19 years and younger.

Group programs for children, teens, and families can help reduce isolation, foster connection, establish resilience, support mental health, and build community. We offer the following programs for children, teens, and families: Kids Club, Common Ground, and The Village.

Grief in my Backpack is our online course and resource, created to equip teachers, school staff, and community leaders to support students who are grieving.

The Parent Lunch and Learn Series, led by the Children’s Grief Centre, provides parents and caregivers with brief, concrete, direct and accessible information as they navigate new situations with their grief and their children’s grief.

Led by The Children’s Grief Centre, these information and Q&A sessions are presented by a professional counsellor and share practical information and resources to address specific questions and topics people have when parenting a grieving child.

Our practical tools and resources support individuals, professionals and community advocates who are grieving or supporting others.
