Hospice Calgary’s Board of Directors is thrilled to share that after a successful search we can announce that Robyn Romano will move into the role of Executive Director effective February 2026. The Board is confident that Robyn’s leadership, strategic capabilities, and passion will be a great fit for Hospice Calgary.
Robyn Romano
Robyn will be leaving her position as CEO of the Distress Centre Calgary where she started as a practicum student 17 years ago. Her decision to make this career move is deeply connected to her own lived experience and personal passion. The chance to support individuals and their loved ones through illness, end-of-life, loss, and transition is profoundly meaningful to Robyn, and aligns closely with the heart of the work that shaped her time at Distress Centre.
Hospice Calgary’s current Executive Director, Fiona McColl, welcomes the opportunity over the next few months to work with Robyn towards a seamless and effective leadership transition. Fiona and Robyn have known each other for several years and that relationship will serve Hospice Calgary well through the transition and ensuring our ongoing commitment to the community.
