The Village is a monthly evening drop-in program for client families with children or teens. It offers an opportunity for client families to connect with one another in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Village activities may include:
- Laser tag offsite
- Sports themed evening
- Annual picnic in a city park
The Hangout is a monthly drop-in program for teens who have lost a loved one, or who are coping with a loved one who is critically ill. This group offers teens an opportunity to connect with others through activities and discussions.
Youth Leaders
This volunteer leadership program is offered to some of our past youth clients creating an opportunity for them to support grieving families through group activities. The youth leaders design each monthly gathering with the support and guidance of the staff of Children’s Grief Centre.
Why Peer-to-Peer Connection
Grief is how we respond when we experience loss. Grief is complicated and there is no one way to experience it. Even members of the same family can grieve differently. Connecting with other people can reduce the sense of isolation and feelings of loneliness that often come with grief.
Accessible to All
The Village is a free drop-in program for our family clients.
