We’re here for you! We know that the state of the world right now is a little overwhelming for everyone and that it can be hard to feel grounded and safe as things change so rapidly.
Figuring out a new normal for yourself and your family may take a lot of space and energy, but we know that your grief has not gone away: it’s there, quieter or louder, in the midst of all these other stressors.
We’re here for you! We may not be able to connect face-to-face, but we are available on the phone, by email, and by secure video platform. As mental health professionals we have been deemed to be essential services for the community. We are providing the same extent of services, but in a different way for now.
Many of you reached out to us because you felt isolated in your grief and, today, you may feel more isolated than ever.
We’re here for you! We have launched our new Text & Chat Service. Of course, we had no idea of what the world would feel like on March 19, 2020 when we launched, but we are so glad that grieving children, teens and parents/caregivers now have another way to reach for support. Text & Chat service is available Tuesdays & Thursdays 3pm-8pm and Fridays 1pm-5pm. You can access the Chat on our website and Text at 587.355.2210.
Hospice Calgary & the Children’s Grief Centre have always been nimble and responsive to grieving families’ needs and we will continue to do so. Please tell us how we can best support you. We’re in this together! Reach out. We will keep our website updated as well as our social media channels ( Facebook @HospiceCalgary, Twitter @childrensgrief, Instagram @childrensgriefca ).

Children’s Grief Centre
The Children's Grief Centre offers professional, specialized services for grieving children in Southern Alberta. Our counsellors help families with children and teens adjust to the changes in their lives.
Using individual, family counselling and group support, we compassionately support people through grief. Our counsellors are recognized experts in end-of-life, grief and trauma counselling for those aged 19 years and younger.
These services are for children, teens, and parents/caregivers who are coping with the death or advanced illness of a loved one.
Group programs for children, teens, and families can help reduce isolation, foster connection, establish resilience, support mental health, and build community.
We offer the following programs for children, teens, and families: Kids Club, Common Ground, and The Village.
Donations to the Children's Grief Centre help us ensure we have a place for grieving children, teens and their families to find support. Learn more about how you can help the Children's Grief Centre, where no child grieves alone.
Children's Grief Centre supports children aged 19 and under as they adjust to the changes in their lives when someone close to them is living with an advanced illness or has died. Our seminars and workshops offer tools and strategies for those grieving or supporting others.
